Another Volunteer and I have a weird/sick game going where whenver we think of something that we particularly miss from that moment in time from America we will text the other person saying 'Remember....?' It is kind of a terrible game, and often I will read it and say 'Oh! Come on!' or cry a little bit inside. But we keep doing it, and while it hurts, it is nice remembering great things in America. So, here is a list of some things that I've remembered lately:
- Remember cheddar cheese?
- Remember campfires on the beach?
- Remember orange juice?
- Remember bookstores and chai tea?
- Remember any and all Mexican food?
- Remember hoodies?
- Remember roast beef?
- Remember horseradish with roast beef?
- Remember comfortable couches?
- Remember Chipotle?
- Remember blue raspberry Icees?
- Remember mountains? and hiking?
- Remember pepperoni sticks?
- Remember sushi?
- Remember clothing stores?
- Remember cookies and cream ice cream? (I was thinking of the one from BYU creamery)
- Remember carpet?
- Remember nachos?
- Remember hugs? or seeing people in love? -Which led my friend to ask if I needed a hug, and maybe I do but there are never any physical displays of affection and it makes me feel bad for the women here.
- Remember bbq chicken wings?
- Remember Red Robin and quality hamburgers?
- Remember the ocean? And sunsets on the ocean?
- Remember cream soda?
- And just as I was posting this I remembered strawberry milkshakes from In-n-Out burger. Yum.
And yes, I do realize that most of this is food. But when your diet consists of basically the same five things over and over again, you dream about the large variety of things to eat in America.

Wow. Your comment today made me crack up. It's true, watching West Wing in class wasn't my finest moment... But that show is great, I couldn't help it.
I want you to know that I often talk about my friend in Africa and then tell some story from your blog. It's a great conversation piece. People think I'm so cool because I've got a friend in Africa in the Peace Corps. VERY cool. So thanks. ;-) Keep the awesome stories coming.
